Our 10 dedicated volunteer dance instructors, including 8 former program participants, generously give of their time and talents. We are also deeply grateful to the many parents and parishioners who help ensure our dancers are outfitted in traditional costumes.

A Spirit of Giving:  In the spirit of community and faith, we do not charge any fees for the dance program. Instead, our teachers donate their time, talent, and treasure to this ministry. In return, we ask that all dancers and their families consider giving of their time as well, by being Stewards in good standing with the Church and by contributing their own volunteer efforts to the Festival. This shared commitment strengthens the bonds of faith, love, and service within our parish.

Practice Schedule: Practices begin the second week after Pascha.

Join us for an enriching experience where you’ll learn traditional Greek dances, build lasting friendships, and proudly share our culture with both our Church community and the wider Danbury area. For any questions please contact us at: greekdance@agoc.us.

We look forward to celebrating with you and creating lasting memories at the festival!

The Greek Experience Festival is a labor of love that allows all of us, young and old, to celebrate our traditions and culture.  It gives us the opportunity to rejoice in our young people as they experience and discover their Orthodox Christian Faith and Hellenic Heritage.  The Assumption Greek Folk Dance Groups are a part of the Church’s Youth Ministry and we welcome all children/young adults to join us.

We are blessed to have volunteer dance instructors (many of whom were members of our Greek Folk Dance Program), that do an outstanding job teaching our children the Traditional Greek Dances.  And also, many parents and parishioners work tirelessly to make sure that all of the dancers are outfitted with beautiful traditional costumes.

Join us for an experience of learning Traditional Greek Folk Dances, for creating lifelong friendships, and sharing our culture with our Church Family, as well as the Greater Danbury.  Practices begin following our Pascha Celebration.  Look for details, dates and times on our website bulletin and calendar.
